Please note: This will allow you to download a zipped installer package - it is NOT an auto update facility |
Download the file
Login to the DMS Support Downloads Site https://support.dmsw.com.au
Click on Downloads to display your available software
Click the green Download button (OR click on the download link in the email you received from DMS) and you will be taken to our secure FTP service. Please note the size of the file.
...
Click Save
The download will begin – it may take some time to complete
Once the download is complete, check that the file is the correct size. If it is significantly smaller, there has been a disruption in the internet transfer and the file will need to be downloaded again.
Unblock the File
By default, files that are downloaded from the internet are considered untrusted and can be blocked by Windows Defender which may prompt you to allow them to be run or may even block your installation completely.
...
Locate the downloaded zip file, right-click it and select Properties
Tick the Unblock box and click OK
Extract the Files
The POSTman files have been compressed in zip format for faster downloading and must be fully extracted. Simply clicking on the zip file will display its contents but do not try to install from there – the software will not work.
Your operating system may have the ability to work with Compressed Folders and in this case follow the steps through the wizard to extract the files
Alternately you can download and use a third-party zip utility such as 7-Zip (free software) or WinZip (paid software)
If there are error messages during the extraction it is likely that the file was not fully downloaded from the Support Site.
...
If you are using WinZip you would right-click the file, go to the WinZip sub menu and select the Extract to POSTman folder option
...
Install the Software
Make sure the extracted folder is located on the computer the software needs to be installed/updated on
Log on as an administrator user. Run the file setup.exe in the extracted folder and complete the installation steps. (It might just be called setup)
