The Day Attendance feature is designed to provide attendance officers with all the necessary tools they need to manage attendance in one convenient location. This feature can be accessed by opening the Posi Attendance app and selecting the Day Attendance Management tab.

This screen has three major sections,

On the left are a series of Filter criteria which are used to locate student records that meet the specified criteria.

  • School criteria:
    To simplify school searching, create an Employee Role for each school, enabling easy selection of the desired school.
    When creating an Employee Role, ensure that you select 'PosiEd Validation' as the designated User. Then, you need to input the name of the school you wish to add as an option in the school search bar. By doing so, the school will be included in the list of searchable options available for users.

The central portion of the screen is dedicated to presenting the records that have been filtered based on the set criteria.

Located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, there are a variety number of useful functions that users can utilise be used to complete specific tasks. For instance, one can easily send communications to the student's carer or create Absence Submissions with just a few clicks. These features provide a convenient and efficient way to manage important tasks.

The first filter criterion that is mandatory is the School. To select a school, click on the School field, and a list of schools that you have access to will appear. You can select one or more schools from this field.

The Date field allows you to specify which day you want to look at. The Day Attendance function operates by searching for the Day Attendance records for all school students on the selected date by default, the date will be today however, you can look at other days by changing the date selection

The other search fields Year Group, Attendance Status, Exception Status, and Explanation Code all default to including all records.

The student’s name will be displayed if there is a the Start Date and End Date, or if today's date falls within the Start Date and End Date of the student; otherwise, it won't be displayed is less than or equal to the date filtered in the sidebar.

The Create Absence Submission and Send Communication both can be bulk-created by selecting multiple students first before clicking the button.

Send Communication

This button is used to send communication to students, parents or carers through Email or SMS.

If Email is selected the Email form will display.

If SMS is selected, an SMS form will be displayed. There are also templates available for convenience.

Create Absence Submission

This button is used for creating or submitting absence submissions.

You can communicate with parents, carers, or students by using this button. When sending communications you have the option of communicating via SMS or Email. Please see link below for further details.
