The Students Attributes object is used to record a variety of types of attributes against students' contact records. By default, PosiEd includes the following student attribute types:

  • Medical Condition

  • Disability

  • Immunization

  • Medical Permission

  • Proficiency

There are different types of attributes associated with students, each having a corresponding record type and pick list on the Student Attribute object. These pick lists come prepopulated with default options that can be found in the Data Dictionary or by reviewing the Student Attributes objects. However, you have the flexibility to amend these lists to meet your specific needs. Additionally, you can also add new record types as required.

In each record type, there are primary pick lists that allow you to choose the attribute you want to add. However, there are also secondary pick lists that let you describe other details of the selected attribute. For instance, when a user enters a Medical Condition, they can indicate its Severity level, which can be customized as per your specific needs.

See example below:

Every type of attribute has a set of corresponding picklists, some of which have options required like severity, adjustment, and level.

In Medical Conditions, there is a Severity option after choosing a medical condition.

Note that PosiEd does not perform any specific functions based on the Attribute values or the additional pick lists such as Severity. However, these values may be passed through to 3rd party systems or might be used by custom configurations or automation.

PosiEd does use the Show Flag value to specify whether or not an attribute will be highlighted to a staff member in the Mark roll screen, for example.
