This feature enables you to easily send communications to students, carers, and parents using either email or SMS. You can choose from a set of pre-made email and SMS templates or create and customize your own templates to suit your specific needs.
You can send communications in Attendance Management, Mark Roll, Account List View and Cohort.
Attendance Management
Select the students first before clicking the Send Comms buttons otherwise, you cannot proceed.
Mark Roll
Select student first before clicking the Send Communication button found in the Action dropdown button.
Account List View
Select "Person Accounts" before sending comms. If non-Person Accounts are selected you will see the error message: "The following are not Person Accounts,” listing the non-Person Accounts.
Cohort
In the Cohort Contact tab, you can communicate with parents, carers, or students by clicking the Send Communication button. Select the students first before clicking the Send Communication button otherwise, you cannot proceed.
Send Communication
You can communicate with parents, carers, or students by using this button. You have a few options when it comes to sending communications. You have the option of communicating via SMS or Email. Additionally, you have choices about who you communicate with. Options regarding the subject matter of the message are also available.
There are available Email and SMS Templates that are provided for sending messages depending on the subject matter that you choose.
Once a template has been selected, it will show up in the message box automatically. Click Send, and the recipient of the SMS or email will receive the message.
After clicking the Send button, a Tasks record will be created where you can see the communication details.
Once the message is successfully sent, a Task will be created with the Related To field displaying the location of the message.
From Attendance Management,
The Activity’s Related To is linked to the Day Attendance record.
From Mark Roll,
The Activity’s Related To is linked to the Session.
From the Account list view,
The Activity’s Related To is linked to the Account record.
Merged Fields for Send Comms
PosiEd offers integrated merge fields designed specifically for Email and SMS templates that automatically set in your message when the referenced field is called, making it simple to send messages via SMS or Email.

Email Template
In creating an Email Template, just go to the Email Template tab by searching on the App Launcher, and on the Email Template page click New Template.
Fill in the necessary fields.
Email Template Name
Please select the type that the email is related to from the Related Entity Type dropdown menu.
In the Message Content Section, add the Subject and enter the message template you would like to create.
Click Source first before saving.
After saving, copy the Email Template ID of the Email Template that you’ve created.
Go to the Comms Template object and click New.
Input the following necessary details
Comms Template Name
Select what type of Email Template you’ve created make sure to select the right type that is related to the Email content.
Paste the Email Template ID you copied previously in the Email Template Id.
In the Audience, make sure to select the specific group or individuals to whom you want the message to be addressed.
Tick the Email checkbox.
After filling in the necessary details, click Save.
SMS Template
To create an SMS Template, go to Comms Template and click New.
Fill in the following necessary details,
Comms Template Name
Select what type of Email Template you’ve created make sure to select the right type that is related to the Email content.
In the Audience, make sure to select the specific group or individuals to whom you want the message to be addressed.
Tick the SMS checkbox.
In the SMS Body, input the SMS Template that you prefer and take note that the SMS Body can only contain up to 255 characters.
Click Save
