BDE Item Staging Object | Think of the staging object as a railway network, with trains filled only with passengers destined for specific locations. The trains don't depart until the station master gives the go ahead, knowing that the passengers have provided the correct tickets for each line. In Salesforce the staging object holds all the information for moving data from a source to the correct destination in your database. This is all it does. |
Batch Data Entry | This refers to using the Batch Data Entry functionality in your Fundraising system. While using batch data entry to create new record in your system, you are not yet using the BDE Item Staging Object. You won't use it until you are ready to run the batch, or until the scheduled batch runs. |
Batch Donation Entry | This is a data entry process that is designed for the efficient and accurate processing of large numbers of donations particularly but not limited to direct mail responses. |

Some are built into Salesforce, and some are third party. Bulk data import doesn't by itself imply data cleansing, or the preparation required to import efficiently and effectively. The practice of data preparation falls into what you might call best practice, which is another term for common sense! |
Campaign Monitor | An online email marketing application that has integration with Salesforce through a custom app. It can be use by clients to send bulk email broadcasts to your Salesforce contacts. (See also Pardot) |

Salesforce’s roll up function ensures that Campaign data is aggregated up the Campaign hierarchy tree. |
