Setup Guide - ProntoDecrypt
Pre-Requisite for using ProntoDecrypt: You need to have encrypted data in a Salesforce field and have a destination field on the same record/object where you would like to decrypt the data.
How to use ProntoDecrypt
Click the App Launcher (nine dots in the top left corner) icon, find 'ProntoDecrypt' and click on it.
Fill in the fields on the Decrypt page according to your needs (see definitions below).
Click Decrypt. An email will be sent to you with the decryption report.
Definitions
Object: This is a picklist. You need to pick the object where you wish to decrypt your data.
Source Field: This is a picklist and is dependant on what you select above as the Object, it will show all available fields on the Object.
Delete source field on decryption: After decrypting the data ProntoDecrypt will delete the data in the source field if you have ticked this checkbox.
Destination Field: This is a picklist and where you want the decrypted data to go once the process is complete.
Skip decryption when destination field in not blank: If you tick this checkbox that means ProntoDecrypt will not enter decrypted data into the field is there is content in there (override).
Decryption Method: This is a picklist and the way in which the encrypted data will be decrypted. This should be the same method that you used to Encrypt the data.
Private Key: This is a free text field and where you enter a key which will be used to 'unlock' the encrypted data from the data encryption program.
Decrypt: When the appropriate fields have been selected. Click the button and an email will be sent to you with the decryption report.
Settings
Number of Data per Batch: The default is set to 50. This gives you the option in a picklist to select the amount of data per batch you would like to decrypt at a time. If the program times out, you may need to reduce the amount of data that gets decrypted at a time.
