Recurring Donations and Annual Tax Statement -WIT
Your contacts can opt in to a recurring donation schedule through your WIT donation pages in the same way they can through your other fundraising channels. Where receipting is concerned, you follow the same processes used when recurring donations are entered directly into your system via Quick Donate or Batch Donation Entry (BDE).
Many organisations set up recurring donation fulfilment to be handled exclusively by ATS fulfilment. Instead of receiving an initial receipt and then regular receipts, they receive a consolidated annual tax statement at the end of each financial year.
In some cases, organisations send their supporters a welcome pack and other communications via their marketing department and systems.
Your supporters who create recurring donations using a WIT transaction page will receive fulfilment using the same methods. They will receive the Thank Your blurb at the end of the transaction process. It is then up to you to ensure that further communications such as a thank you pack are managed through your usual supporter communication processes. The WIT won't automatically do this for you.
This process remains the same even though the first transaction is often cleared immediately (in credit card transactions) through the WIT payment transaction page.
